The globe reading day is April 23th, it is said that many famous authors birth or dead on that day. This article talks about the reading situation now. we should pay attention on reading again. Colin mentioned that as the high technology developing, especially the user increase in computers, we spent more and more time on computer no matter study or work. It has become necessary thing in our lives. As a result, the people who spent on reading are less and less. Even many people like to read news, magazines, and books on line. Colin claimed if more and more people choose not read the paper books, our culture will decline. He recommended us go to the bookstore in our spare time, do not on the internet after finishing work. in many aspects, computers provide the convince and bother our lives at the same time. So that we lost of much fun in our real lives.

When I reading this article Colin is talking what I think. In the past, we evaluate a person’s value that based on how many books does he have. But now we don't need to go to bookstore to read. We can find everything online. Here is my personal experience. Before I go to college, I almost don’t touch computer at all. I used to take notes using the pen, teachers only use blackboard to teach, do all homework and research using my pen and books. However, when I go to college it totally changed, teachers use PowerPoint to teach, do homework online, some students use computer to take notes, all of the information are proved online. So it seems like I can’t study or finish my any work without computer. I spent a long to get used to it, but I still feel uncomfortable. Beside study, most of my spare time is online. Shopping, chatting, watching movies or TV, listening to music, reading, etc. I prefer to stay at home and not go out. Even my personal had changed, I am not outgoing as before and don't want to connect with other friends. Going back to read book, I am impatient when I read something online. I like the paper smell and feel peaceful when I read paper books. So as I lived in a modern society I have to used to it even like it. However I still thing something never wouldn’t be changed, no matter how society develop. Such as culture and tradition. Reading is one part of culture.
I described reading online is just like a fast food, you haven't taste its flavor then you have finished it. Books are our spiritual sources, fast food is not good for our health and it destroyed our body.
